This manufacturing facility is now part of a joint venture owned by 60
percent by Monsanto Company and 40 percent by Solutia Inc.
Solutia is an independent, publicly traded company that was created on
Sept. 1, 1997, with the applied chemistry businesses formerly part of
Monsanto. Solutia operates the Soda Springs plant for the joint venture,
and both companies use elemental phosphorus from Soda Springs as a raw
material for their products.
Solutia applies its skills in chemistry to create solutions for its
customers and consumers worldwide. With 10 businesses serving a variety
of markets, Solutia's products are part of everyday life.
