This manufacturing facility is a guest operation, operated for Solutia
Inc. by Bayer Corporation. Solutia is an independent, publicly traded
company that was created on Sept. 1, 1997, with the applied chemistry
businesses formerly part of Monsanto Company. Bayer acquired this plant
from Monsanto in 1996. Solutia applies its skills in chemistry to
create solutions for its customers and consumers worldwide. With 10
businesses serving a variety of markets, Solutia's products are part of
everyday life. Our best-known products include: - Skydrol
hydraulic fluid, the leader in commercial aviation worldwide.
- Wear-Dated carpet fibers and upholstery fabrics made with
Solutia's fibers carry one of North America's most recognized trademarks;
and
- Saflex plastic interlayer, used in high-performance
laminated glass for buildings and vehicles.
This facility produces Resimene resins, used in automotive
paints to add luster, and Scripset resins, used in coatings for
printed circuit boards, aluminum cans and printing papers.
